Dean Winchester grew up learning all about all the monsters that lurk in the dark, and more about the ones that can hide plain in sight. Witches, demons, shifters, changelings, even creatures nobody’s ever heard of. Dean gave his entire life to hunting them, with a few simple comforts to ease the way. The Impala. Music. Whiskey. Women. Not wine, but beer’s good. A sliver of freedom. He also took comfort in knowing that, of all the horrors of the world, vampires aren’t real. Of all the things Dean had to be grateful for, that those suckers were just a myth, definitely makes the top 10. Alone and injured after a hunt gone wrong, Dean is already at rock bottom when his father calls in distress—only for it to drop as suddenly as it began.

A dead-end case. An eerie town. An impossible monster. A missing father. And one ragged Dean, struggling to string it all together.
